Your time can make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults across Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to match different interests, schedules, and skill sets.


Kitchen Assistant/Packer

Our Lewiston Distribution Center is in need of a volunteer(s) for food prep and meal production on Mondays and/or Tuesdays for 2 to 4 hours each day, between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon. This assignment provides an opportunity to work alongside members of our nutrition team.


Meals on Wheels—Backup Delivery Drivers
Mileage reimbursed at 54 cents per mile

Want to volunteer occasionally? We are seeking backup Meals on Wheels delivery drivers in Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties. Options include Mondays through Thursdays between 9 a.m. and noon. Meal pickup locations vary by county and distribution center.


Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers—Androscoggin County
Mileage reimbursed at 54 cents per mile

Our Lewiston Distribution Center is seeking volunteers for the following routes:
• Tuesdays in Sabattus: approximately 60 minutes
• Thursdays in Auburn: approximately 60 minutes


Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers—Franklin County
Mileage reimbursed at 54 cents per mile

Our Jay Distribution Center is seeking volunteers for:
• Wednesdays, every other week, in the Kingfield/Stratton area, route takes approximately 4 hours
• Wednesdays, every other week, in the Livermore Falls area, route takes approximately 1 hour
• Thursdays, every other week, in the Rangeley area, route takes approximately 3 hours


Medicare Counselors

Provide confidential assistance to clients navigating the Medicare system. Volunteers help individuals understand their options and review Medicare coverage. All training is provided


Opening Minds through Art (OMA)

We are accepting volunteer applications for our Opening Minds through Art (OMA) program. Volunteers assigned to this program will assist individuals in expressing their creativity and opening their minds and memory through art. No prior experience is necessary to volunteer for this program as all volunteers will receive training. We have OMA openings in all counties and at all office locations (Lewiston, Norway, and Wilton).


Social Dining Site Assistant

Looking for a volunteer opportunity just 2–4 hours per month? Social Dining Site Assistants support SeniorsPlus staff during meal service. Duties include setting and cleaning tables for about 10 residents, assisting with plating and serving meals, and post-meal clean-up. Training is provided.

Current locations and schedules:
• Rumford Island Housing on Mondays, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
• Industry Town Office on the third Thursday of the month (10 a.m.–2 p.m.; pickup and return in Jay)
• Meadowview, Lewiston on Tuesdays, approximately 2–2.5 hours weekly
• Barker Mills, Auburn, twice monthly on Tuesdays, approximately 2–2.5 hours
• Esplanade, Auburn, two times a month on Thursdays, approximately 2 hours
• Roak Block, Auburn, two times a month on Wednesdays, approximately 2 hours


Office Reception Support

We are seeking volunteers to assist with office and reception support. Requirements include basic typing skills and general knowledge of Microsoft programs.

Current needs:
• Norway office: Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–noon and/or noon–4:30 p.m.
• Wilton office: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 12:30–4 p.m.

Office assistance at this location may include greeting clients and general reception support for the Administrative Services and/or Community Services personnel.
