Each year, thousands of older adults across Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties rely on Meals on Wheels through SeniorsPlus to stay healthy, nourished, and connected. Many live alone, and for some, the daily Meals on Wheels delivery is the only meal—and the only friendly conversation—they receive all day.
From November 20 through January 2, the Subaru Share the Love® Event offers a powerful way for our community to support local older adults aging in place here in Western Maine.
Why Your Choice Matters
Across the country, 1 in 3 older adults live alone, and millions struggle with hunger and isolation. With only 1% of all philanthropic giving directed toward aging services, programs like Meals on Wheels depend on community support to continue delivering:
-
Nutritious, home-delivered meals
-
Vital safety checks
-
Friendly visits that reduce loneliness
-
Support for dedicated volunteers and staff
Choosing Meals on Wheels America as your charity through the Share the Love Event directly benefits providers like SeniorsPlus that serve older adults throughout our tri-county region.
