New Annual Home Based Supports and Services (HBSS) Training Requirements for Providers

Greetings Section 63 (HBSS) Providers:

I am writing to provide you with new annual training requirements for Section 63 providers and employees. Many of our contracted agencies may already be providing these trainings and resources to their staff.

Annual training and resource requirements include:

  • Identifying and Reporting Fraud, Waste and Abuse
  • Reportable Events
  • Community Resources
  • Appropriate referrals to agencies such as:
    • The Department’s Division of Licensing and Certification (DLC)
    • Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP)
    • Legal Services

As a section 63 provider, you receive information on some of the above items at time of Provider Orientation. You are now required to review these training requirements annually with your employees. SeniorsPlus will obtain verification that you agree to meet this new requirement annually.

I will be sending you our first annual training resource confirmation request through DocuSign. Upon receipt, you will be requested to confirm that you will provide the training and resources to your employees as required by SeniorsPlus.
