Education Center

SeniorsPlus offers classes and workshops in our three accessible locations in Lewiston, Norway, and Wilton that contribute to the health, wellness, knowledge, and interests of older adults and adults with disabilities. Most of our offerings are free of charge. Registration is required, except for support groups.

Through our Education Centers, we strive to enrich lives through lifelong learning, and to provide opportunities that will enable people to:

  • Age well
  • Be engaged in life
  • Live as fully as possible
  • Live with dignity and respect
  • Make informed choices about aging well through the information provided by qualified instructors who volunteer their time, energies, and expertise

Frequently Asked Questions

Most education programs at SeniorsPlus are free. Art and craft classes may have a supplies fee, and some exercise classes have a small fee. Classes are limited and require advance registration by calling SeniorsPlus.

Wrong! We offer in-person and online classes. (If you are interested in online classes, we can help you get set up.) We present educational programs not only at our Lewiston location, but also at our Wilton and Norway offices, and sometimes at other locations.

Our Matter of Balance class is among our evidence-based, self-management education programs that provide tools for managing health threats. We also offer Tai Chi and yoga classes that help with balance.

In addition to our support groups, we have a knitting circle and book groups. And most people find being in any of our classes stimulating and fun.

Our annual Aging Well Living Well Expo is held each fall at Sunday River and offers a day of educational workshops, lectures, and good eating in a gorgeous setting. It’s not free, but we’ve been doing it for many years and attendees seem to think they get their money’s worth and then some. Registration is required.

We offer music therapy and art therapy programs, which offer stimulation for people like your father, while giving caregivers like you some breathing room.
