Additional Sponsorship Opportunities

AGING WELL LIVING WELL EXPO

Tentative date: Friday, October 1, 2021

Sunday River Resort, Newry, or a Virtual Event

SeniorsPlus, the designated Western Maine agency on aging, requests your consideration of sponsorship of our Aging Well Living Well Expo 2021. The conference is targeted towards engaged, older adults and the intended purpose is to provide a day of educational and informative information that will help them age as healthfully and independently as possible.

At the beautiful Sunday River Resort, we will host our 13th annual Aging Well Living Well Expo, unless the pandemic requires we go with a virtual event. In fourteen years, attendance has grown from 30 attendees to almost 300 attendees, with reliably excellent participant evaluations. The way that we are able to keep the costs affordable for the participants is through corporate sponsorships, which offer maximum exposure.

The goals of the Expo are as follows:

· Present a dynamic and informative community event;

· Present a range of programs designed to stimulate older adults and adults with disabilities in communities throughout Maine;

· Collaborate with health, arts, and social services organizations, as well as educators, local businesses, and other civic groups;

· Improve aging-well skills throughout Maine.

· Increase socialization through learning by creating educational programming offering social interaction; and

· Reduce healthcare costs by working to improve health and safety of older adults and adults with disabilities.

The Expo attracts people from all over the state. Over the years we have collaborated with many businesses and organizations across the state, including University of Maine, AARP, New England Organ Bank, Healthy Androscoggin, Maine Historical Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, and area hospitals and providers. These relationships are now ongoing so the impact of Expo continues long after the event ends.

“Maine has one of the oldest populations in the country and it’s getting older. The 65-and-above age group will account for nearly all of Maine’s population growth in the next 10 years. In the Census, 2010, Maine ranked 3rd among states in the percent of persons age 65+. As a percent of the total population, Maine’s 65-and-above age group continues to grow at a faster rate than New England’s or the rest of the nation. Maine’s median age is the highest in the United States, a trend that is expected to continue.” — Chart book, Older Adults with Physical Disabilities, Muskie School of Public Service

Major Sponsor Opportunity: Education Center at SeniorsPlus
Annual Sponsorship

SeniorsPlus, the designated Agency on Aging for Western Maine, requests your consideration of becoming a major sponsor of the Education Center at the Lewiston headquarters of SeniorsPlus.

Major sponsors will receive optimum exposure in online and print marketing of the programming at the Education Center, as well as on-site exposure.

Since it began tracking attendance in 2010, the Education Center has grown from 376 unduplicated program attendees to more than 800 annually. It presents 12-15 free workshops each month, which are designed to educate, engage, and inspire. During the pandemic, we continued to present quality educational programming via Zoom, while equipping our clients with the necessary means for access.

The Education Center has begun to be recognized as a community gathering place for older adults and adults with disabilities, not only by these constituents, but by other community organizations as well. Organizations that are looking for a way to share their educational expertise with an older population are now calling us. These include Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, UNE, AARP, and Legal Services for the Elderly.

The goals of the Education Center are as follows;

· Present evidence-based and quality educational programming designed to appeal specifically to older adults and adults with disabilities;
· Attract expert presenters from the community and afar;
· Present educational programming devoid of a presenter “sales pitch;”
· Present programming at little or no cost to the consumer; and
· Create a welcoming, unintimidating hub for the community, thereby reducing isolation.

Being a lead sponsor not only helps us to build stronger communities, but also gives you a unique marketing opportunity. As a major sponsor your organization/company will receive the following year-long exposure:

· Recognition in the monthly online/print program flyer, which goes to almost 900 households each month;
· Recognition on our website and other collaterals listing major sponsors; and
· The opportunity to hang your company banner (not to exceed 3x5’) in the Education Center.

The cost to be a major sponsor of the Education Center is $25,000 annually.

To become a major sponsor of the Education Center for one year, please send a check made payable to SeniorsPlus to: SeniorsPlus, 8 Falcon Road, Lewiston, ME 04240.

Please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Cecil, Marketing and Development Manager, at scecil@seniorsplus.org or 207-513-3706 should you need additional information. Thank you for your support!
